Math - Understanding Division

Division is quite the opposite of Multiplication. Instead of adding groups of like amounts together, you are splitting up the group and giving out to others.

For instance, if you were hosting a party and invited 25 people to your house planning to give each of your guests the remainder of the party favors you bought. If you had 300 party favors, it could take forever to hand one favor at a time to each guest until they were all gone. Instead, you could divide the number of party favors by the number of guests and know you hand each guest 12.

As an adult with children, you will often have to divide candies, treats, toys as well as other things to keep them happy. You will even have to divide your money evenly over their allowance. Sometimes you will even need it when dealing with bills and creating a budget. So as you can see, this is something you will need.
